i talk to Peter Gramham on myspace (Rolling thunder)
i asked, hey mr incredible you have any tips on your kyokushin world wind kick
this wat peter said The most important training tip with learning the rollkick is doing a judo roll on the mats in your gym and useing your strongest kicking leg to kick with, Using an action like an ake kick at the end of the roll on the ground to deliver the blow. Then once that is perfected you start to place you hand on the ground like a hand stand to deliver the blow. The last step is to remove the hand and there you have it a Rollkick. Just a quick thought it has taken about ten years to be able land this kick in a real fight but keep at it and I know you will crack break and smash people with this great kick. Good luck!!! Pete.

i looked like fool trying to look like tsukamoto in the dojo doing the domawashi, but i was more successful with the "maha"-geri. I was watching some of the dvds sensei has at the dojo, and the impact and noise that a nice domawashi-kaiten makes is extraordanirly loud. I've been trying to implement this in my kumite, but i just can't work it fast enough to make it unpredictable.
I actually use my weaker leg to land the kick, that way my "better" leg can help me push off the ground to make the roll faster. One, TobiSeikenTsuki |

Just looks like a step over spin kick to me???? Am I missing something? I thought a roll kick was when you did like a front break fall and the leg comes over the top, dropping straight down on the head/ bridge of the nose?
Still a great kick though.

Osu! for me, one name is synonymous with rolling kick: Tsukamoto Norichika.
Watch for the kick at 38" , 1'05" and throughout. |
