while training I try to listen my instructor and my partners. When going on training I watch Daisukey's highlights. Before session in the dojo sounds Kyokushin official music

I don't listen to any music. I just sort of get in my own zone when I work out/train martial arts.

I am fond music that represent kyokushin fighters like "I'll be missing you"(Francisco Filho), "We will rock you"(Andy Hug), "Bring the pain"(Jean Riviere) and so on. I also like music that reminds me of movies about training and fighting. Best examples are "Training montage" from Rocky 4 and "You're the best" from Karate Kid.
My new love is Japanese songs from the 70s and 80s. While listening to these songs I feel like I am part of "The strongest karate"(the movie). The nostalgic flavour in them give me a very good fighting mood...dunno how to explain.(sort of like the songs of Maiko Kaji in Kill Bill 1&2 which really fit with the very oriental fight scenes).

Dear ibuki,
I am sorry as some of those songs sound quite "slow" and maybe many people do not prefer using them for workout. If you are looking for high bpm songs then these may not suit you. But anyhow see if you like them

Yamaguchi Momoe (a legendary diva in Japan)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyeQprxljE8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYERbtd4YGU

Nakamori Akina
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zpk55wplWA

Koizumi Kyoko
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxx_vkxXE7U
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQyKQU3aBOo

Sawada Kenji
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V_UxSEhnDw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxl5kE2iRd8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAcadjhQsNo

A different genre of Japanese singing, more traditional
Toba Ichirou
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEZRGdQ6wF4
Kawanaka Miyuki
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE38Z4YQCKc

As for the more conventional gym music, I will choose:
Heart's on fire (Survivor)
Eye of the tiger (Survivor)
The sweetest victory(Survivor)
You're the best (Joe "Bean" Eposito)
Mama said knock you out (LL Cool J)
Bring the pain (Method Man)
Sex Bomb(Tom Jones)
A view to a kill(Duran Duran)
In your eyes(Kylie Minouge)

Depending on my mood, before training I listen to different music, but I like the soundtrack of the last samurai movie or sometimes I listen to trance music...like armin van buuren for example these two are so different, but as I said, I listen to them depending on my mood

it all depends on my mood, sometimes I listen to the same music I do for meditation. SOmetimes I will listen to stupid slipknot or other screaming music that will pump me up and put me in a rage. Other times I will listen to "we will rock you" by queen. or other normail rock music. or "Last Resort" from Papa Roach, Or "Last Contestant" from Nickelback, it all depends on my mood.

The Requiem for a Dream song is a wicked beat aye, but it brings back weird memories of one armed man lying in a hospital bed, and "ass to ass"

Metal all the way!

Personally I listen to faster stuff like: Devil at Midnight Mass and River Below by Billy Talent, Machine Head by Bush, Rosetta Stoned and Jambi by Tool, The Rebirth by Boy Hits Car, First Time and Drag You Down by Finger Eleven, Hotel Coral Essex by The Bled and Industrial Metal (like Static X). Too many songs to list...

Oh and Greek music 8)
