As far as being explosive in training....when doing regular workouts with weights...just do it quick...
for example...lets say you are doing arm curls...pull up in 1 second, and go down within three...up in one down in three...that's explosive. for legs I do 4 sets of 20 jump squats with 135LBS. just put the bar with one 45 plate on each side, and squat, then jump as high as you can...you gotta make sure you stay close to the rack, because first timers WILL fall and if there is nothing to catch the bar you will hurt yourself. Osu! Eddie, I don't know about jumping with a barbell. I imagine there would be a lot of stress on the intervertebral disks. Have you tried barbell cleans and snatches? There's less stress on your spine and you can "jump" with more weight if your feeling especially genki.

the only weights i ever used were combination punching with dumb bells and hand weights,a bit primative i admit but it did work.

no never tried it...if you feel pain in your back then obviously you're doing it wrong...I've been doing it for years...never harmed me...I feel alot of leg stress...lol...but I guess that's why my legs are strong.
Use a Smith machine then... ![]() OSU!! |
