Getting Despised (Confused)

Case 97 of the diamond sutra
"It is about getting despised by other people. If you are to come into hell
because of your sins in your previous life, these sins will be extinguished
because you are despised by the people of this world."

I'm confused on the meaning of this?

i think is about you living a hell now cause you made sins in your previous life, so in every life you burn negative karma in each reencarnation,therefore " these sins will be extinguished
because you are despised by the people of this world."
